Caesarstone is an Israeli quartz surfacing company. For the last 7 years, the brand’s Designer Program has been challenging the expected uses for quartz. Celebrating innovation through partnerships, this year the chosen designer was Jonathan Adler.
Jonathan Adler is an American potter, designer and author. Adler launched his first ceramic collection in 1993, expanding into home furnishings 5 years later. His portfolio includes a variety of projects, like the Parker Palm Springs Hotel.
Like the rest of the designers, Adler had to offer his forward-thinking perspective on the material. Consequently, the result was not only dreamy but also highly Instagrammable.
Adler redrew the boundaries and challenged the traditional perception of quartz. The New York–based designer conceived a soft environment with a material more associated with straight lines and sharp angles. From dream to reality, he created a walk-through cloudscape in a rainbow of colours and textures.
Featuring plush seating and cloud tables topped with giant, candy-colored acrylic hands, Adler created a fabulous fantasy. The exhibit also had silver podiums holding porcelain vases along with neoclassical columns, faces and ostrich feathers.
In addition to being vibrant and dreamy, Dreamland is also trendy. Adler’s use of organic and curvy shapes in Caesarstone is seen as an inspired extension of the current trend in Interior Design 2020, where the curvy lines rule.
Finally, the designer wanted to create a sense of spectacle. So he did it. Inspirational and imaginative, the Dreamland pushes the use of quartz into all aspects of the home, consequently encouraging homeowners to dream in color.
